Engagement Session - Snow Day! - Jeremy and Michelle

Jeremy contacted me from Canada, having found me on the web.  I love this aspect of the internet - it brings us all together and makes our big world a little bit smaller!  He told me his fiance, Michelle, was living in Boston completing her residency.  They wanted to schedule an engagement portrait session while he would be in town visiting for the holidays.

It was December 21 and even though it was practically a blizzard outside, we had to go forward.  Jeremy was only in town for a brief holiday visit so Sunday was our only day to shoot.  It was cold, windy and wet, but this couple, so obviously in love, didn't seem to mind a bit.  In the end it worked out perfectly and we were lucky to have the beautiful snow - Michelle said that the pictures of the two of them in the snow were exactly what she had envisioned for their "Save the Dates!" As we made our way back from Boston Common, Michelle's hands were numb and I joked, "Only a couple of Canadians would not only spend an hour outside in a blizzard for their engagement photos, but enjoy every minute of it!"  Michelle and Jeremy were such good sports and I think the photographs show - it was worth it!  Great to meet you both!

Blog Action Day 2008 - Poverty

Blog Action Day 2008 Poverty from Blog Action Day on Vimeo.

Today is Blog Action Day 2008 and the topic this year is "Poverty."
Since this is a photo blog, I have decided to share with you a photo of the baby boy I am sponsoring through the Christian Children's Fund (CCF). His name is Esteban and he is now about 11 months old.  The same age as my son.  He lives in Ecuador with his mother and benefits from CCF services in a variety of ways. CCF provides services to children and families all over the world regardless of race or creed.  And they do so without proselytizing any person to a faith..."rather it's name is derived from it's founder, a Presbyterian minister who believed in 'Christian principles,' such as 'love thy neighbor as thyself.'"  In honor of Blog Action Day 2008 - Poverty, today I will donate an item from CCF's Gifts of Love and Hope Catalog.  In this catalog, you can choose a specific item that will ease the burden of poverty. As stated in their catalog, "Each item you choose will be purchased in that country as described in our catalog and given to children and their families in our circle of care."  To participate in Blog Action Day 2008 - Poverty,  visit the ANY of the links above and DO something...anything. Thanks for your participation.
